The Land of Notrust
Welcome to the land of Notrust. Here at Notrust, we do not trust anyone. All terms are relative. The term ‘best friend’ defines the person who knows you the best but even they will never know who you really are. No wife trusts her husband and no husband trusts his wife. Therefore every 5 years, we exchange spouses. You’ll find that this process is very efficient and thorough. We’ve found that by forcefully putting an expiration date on a relationship, each partner makes more of a conscious effort to “love” the other. From our observations, the knowledge of brevity seems to foster quality. As a citizen of Notrust, you may never reveal your heart, soul or mind to any other inhabitant. Doing so would run the risk of attachment and infatuation. These are explicitly prohibited in our land.
You may mock us and say that we are crazy. That we will never know the true meaning of these vague terms: love, family, and trust. This may be true. But I will tell you something else we will never know: disappointment, anxiousness and betrayal.
