"Such Great Heights (Sampled)"

It’s 1:19 AM, August 29th, 2011.

So here it is. You get four years, and the timer starts ticking way before you’re ready. You’ve been preparing your entire life for this moment. Some of you, more than others. Either way, you knew it was coming. And there’s really no way to push it to the back of your mind, is there? This is real. This is happening. This cannot be forcibly smothered into insignificance through shifty rhetoric. They can use distracting, grandiose language to lessen and reduce the sting of what you and I are about to go through. They can force your mind’s eyes to see through some euphemistic, poetic lens that may make this messy process seem like a thing of elegance. But it is what it is. Your life is about to change.

Yeah, yeah. It loomed in the distance…the moment that you would have to transition. Transition into something bigger. The moment, some say, you start living.

Well then, which path will you choose? There isn’t one path, or two. Not three, nor four. But the number doesn’t really matter, does it?

You only get one. So what will it be?

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Please make it something worth writing about. Please make it inspiring, amazing, breath-taking.

They will see us standing from such great heights,

“Come down now,” they’ll say.

But everything looks perfect from far away.

“Come down now.”

But we’ll stay.
